How Does a Cityswoon Event Run?
1. Buy a ticket and turn up to the event, at the start time. Then "check-in" at the venue by logging into your CitySwoon account on your smart phone.
2. For each date, Cityswoon presents you with a photo of your next date, who will be nearby. Find each other, have a chat and move on when the next date pings on your smartphone.
3. The next day, you can chat to the people who you dated, on CitySwoon for free. You can also chat to everyone at the event who you didn't date - it's a great idea to mingle after the dating is done.
How is it different to just any old speed dating event?
It's matched and it's mobile!
1. Making speed dating mobile means that you get to meet new people in the best settings possible.
- Events are staged in really great bars, hand-picked for their fantastic first date vibe.
- No need to sit in the same spot all night, go to the bar, grab a couch space, it's up to you.

That means, the focus is on meeting people matched to you without being tied to one seat all night AND meeting them in fantastic venues.
How does the matching work?
Firstly, it's different to online matching. Everyone present is matched simultaneously, live at the event. Think about that.
Cityswoon uses the profile attributes and the feedback from previous meetings to match you to other attendees at the event for each date-round. You will get 6-8 dates with the opportunity to chat to other participants after the dating is finished. This format, combined with our atmospheric venues, creates a really fun and friendly environment.
You will be matched based on your profile. The algorithm uses your entire profile including your educational background, political beliefs, religion, height, age etc. and your answers to the personality questions.
The algorithm also uses feedback that you have given from any previous CitySwoon dates.
What if there was someone there I liked, but didn't get to date?
Great! We attract a lot of fantastic people to our events and you might not date them all. So, if you like them, go and say Hi! You can chat to everyone the next day via your messages on CitySwoon, but if you didn't say hello on the night, you are not giving yourself a great chance if you only approach them online...
The set dates are just suggestions, there have been marriages from people who were set up on dates, and also from people who met at the event, at the post date mingle time!
I haven't received my event confirmation email
Please check your junk folder for an email from CitySwoon.
If you find the email there please set it as a non junk email and add it to your trusted senders. We'll send you more information leading up to your event and contact information of the other daters after the event.
Will I date the same people again?
You won't ever date the same person twice! Cityswoon remembers who you've dated and never matches you again. At events OR online.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Please ensure you are within the stated age limits for this event. ID may be requested by our hosts as proof of age. The people booking into events are there to meet people of the ages promoted. We may allow a certain leeway of a year or so but please get in touch first BEFORE buying a ticket.
Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?
No. But you will need to complete your free CitySwoon profile with the email you registered with. We add this to the event list. So, simply login to Cityswoon (using that email) and click the 'I'm Here Now' button when you arrive. Easy!
What Should I bring into the event?
Your *must* have your smart phone.
What is the refund policy?
No refunds. Sorry, these events are tricky and time consuming to organise. We also take pride in having closely balanced gender numbers. We do allow transfers to another event if you let us know 7 days out. See our T&C's for more details.
What happens if my phone dies?/I lost my phone today?/I dropped my phone in the toilet - help!
No worries! It happens. Your host will be able to help you find your dates, plus your dates will (hopefully) have a phone that is working to be able to find you too!
Can I update my registration information?
Please do this on your CitySwoon profile. You may not be able to amend your gender. Please contact us if this is the case.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
You need to contact us to do this and we need at least 7 days notice.
How long do events run for?
The dating section of the event (unless otherwise indicated) starts at 7pm sharp and runs until about 9:15pm or 9:30pm. After this people often have a drink with the other people at the event.

How does the online dating work?
On your logged in home page, you will see other members' date suggestions. You are invited to accept or reject these members. You can view profiles and with a full membership, you can message each other to arrange to meet up.
The online dating is integrated into the platform. For example, if you meet someone on a date at an event, you will not see them online and vice versa.
The date suggestions encourage meeting face-to-face as that is where we think the sparks fly.
What is paid membership?
For a monthly subscription, you can become a paid member. This will allow full services for the online dating service. Also, you will receive BIG, guaranteed discounts on ALL events!
Where can I manage my membership?
You can manage and cancel your membership at any time under your accounts page. Just go to Edit your Account and click the 'Your subscription' link at the bottom of the page.
How do I switch off online dating?
You can make yourself invisible under the accounts page. Even if you only want paid membership just for the events discounts. Just go to 'Edit your account' and select the Settings link at the bottom of the page.
I've answered someone's date question, what happens next?
Just like any dating service, it has to be mutual to continue. Your online match will be notified of your answer, they can then read it, browse your profile and decide whether to accept your answer or not. If they accept it, great - you can now chat to each other freely and set up an actual date.
I can't make a date that I've set up online, what do I do?
Easy - just send your date a quick message letting them know that you want to rearrange it. You don't have to stick to the date that is on the system, that's just there as a suggestion.
How can I block a member who has contacted me?
Easy, if you receive a message from someone who you do not want contacting you, select the 'Block' button to the right of the message and their messages will be blocked from your inbox.
